Artist Statement

Like most creative minds, Jason Gluskin's artistic voice is a reflection of his personality: colorful, soulful, positive, exciting, often a bit whimsical and always developing.

As a displaced Bostonian, thrown into the whirlwind of New York City, Gluskin is inspired by his surroundings. Jason strives to capture the beauty, energy, chaos, harmony and anxiety of his environment onto compositions on canvas. Music is always playing in Gluskin's world and continues to be a frequent theme of his art... from rock to jazz, punk to country,

In 2009, he began displaying and selling his work through various showcases in NYC and New Jersey. His work has been consistently on display, garnered much press and is gaining great momentum.

Bio

Jason Gluskin is a New York City/Hoboken, NJ-based artist who was taught at an early age by his grandmother, also a professional painter. His vibrant style infuses expressionism, impressionism and a hint of modern illustration.

In 2006, Jason started to experiment with large paintings for the first time and unveiled his work in May 2009 with much success. He quickly secured a gallery show, broke into SOHO, New York City and has generated significant press with his bold, colorful, musical style. Jason and his art have been featured on television and on short film.

Jason minored in art at the University of Vermont. His first post-college job was as art director at The Outdoors Magazine, entailing both design and illustration work. His illustrations have been published in national magazines, local newspapers and online.

Jason surrounds himself with music, which fuels his work. He has been employed as a creative marketer at Rolling Stone, Live Nation and currently SIRIUS XM Radio. Jason completed a Master's in Interactive Marketing from New York University in 2008.
